DHM is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to educating patients, their families, and their caregivers about chronic diseases and related topics. DHM is founded on the premise that patients and healthcare consumers have the right to receive these educational resources free-of-charge. DHM produces unbiased, non-commercial, state-of-the-art healthcare information via all electronic media.
The goal of DHM is to make it easier for patients and their families to get access to the critical information they are searching for. DHM is a resource that will help address the issues that arise when a family member or friend becomes ill.
The founders of DHM, Michael Yonchenko and Lea Bergen, are award-winning producers. They have received nearly 100 awards over the past 26 years including the highly prestigious C. Everett Koop, M.D. Award from the American Medical Association for excellence in medical education. DHM is also a recipient of a Jefferson Awards for Public Service from the American Institute for Public Service.
Funding for DHM comes from foundations, unrestricted educational grants from corporations, donations from private individuals, as well as income from
501(c) Productions, the fee-for-service branch of DHM.
DHM’s medical advisors provide expertise to ensure the highest level of content accuracy, timeliness, and usefulness to the people served by DHM.
